If you have a Brand Account, you can now use channel permissions to add or remove access to your YouTube channel instead. Note that Brand Accounts using channel permissions, including owners, temporarily can't use Live Control Room. Learn more.
You can have multiple people manage your channel without giving them access to your Google Account. They can manage your channel in YouTube Studio on a computer or mobile device, or through the YouTube mobile app. Inviting someone to manage your channel:
- Is safer than sharing your password.
- Lets you give only the amount of access they need.
Subscribe to the YouTube Creators channel for the latest news, updates, and tips.
Currently, people you’ve invited to manage your channel can’t manage via YouTube.com (coming soon) or YouTube APIs. Owners can still make people moderators where they can reply and moderate within YouTube.com and the YouTube app.
Supported actions
Public vs. private activity on the YouTube app
While acting as a delegate for a channel on the YouTube app, there’s a distinction between public and private actions.
- Public actions: Delegates can perform these actions for the channel owner and the action will be attributed to the channel.
- Public actions are listed in the table below.
- Private actions: Delegates perform these actions as their personal account that they’re signed in with.
- Private actions include searching, watching videos, and purchases. Learn more.
Visual indicators will help delegate users know how the action is attributed.
Note: Channel permissions are still in development, so check back here to learn if new features are supported. Some actions may not be available at all when acting as a delegate.
